Policies & Expectations

 1. ATTITUDE — Come to lessons prepared, on time and with an open mind.  Performing is about vulnerability and stretching past comfort zones.  Lessons are a safe place to try new things.

2.  PROMPTNESS — If you are late, please let me know and you should expect the lesson to end on time.  I will try and accommodate you the best I can but lessons are often scheduled right next to each other.  If I am running late, I will give you your full lesson time.

3.  FEES — Lessons are paid per lesson or monthly depending on your preference.  Payment is accepted via cash, check, PayPal or Venmo.  Lessons will not take place without payment.  Please discuss any extenuating circumstances with me.

4. LESSON SCHEDULING – Lesson scheduling is handled directly with me using the contact form, listed below, using the Contact button on the navigation bar, or at the bottom of the home page.

5. CANCELLATIONS — If a lesson is missed without a minimum of 24 hours notice, you will be expected to pay for that lesson before receiving any other lessons. Please notify me directly as early as possible if you will have to miss a lesson and we can reschedule if more than 24 hours notice is given. In case of sudden illness of a student or parent, please let me know first thing in the morning before going to work or school, or you will be expected to pay for that day’s lesson.

6. FACETIME/SKYPE LESSONS – Frame yourself so that you can see the tip of your head to your waist.  If you have a microphone please connect it to your computer before the lesson.  Call at the start of your lesson time or send a link.

7. SNOW POLICY – If there is snow and you are not able to come to your lesson or do not feel comfortable driving, the lesson will continue at the same time online.

8. PROCEDURE — When you arrive at the studio for your lesson, please be respectful of the previous student.  Enter quietly and wait for your turn.

9. MATERIALS — Come to lessons with sheet music in a book or a three ring binder, or loaded onto an iPad.  If using a karaoke track, make sure to send the file before the lesson or have the link ready.

10. SUSPENDING OR ENDING LESSONS - Please note: a two-week notice is required in order to suspend or stop lessons.* No exceptions.
